Boo.
Let's see...not much has been happening really. The weather can't seem to make up it's mind. It's either totally windy, cold, foggy and freezing or OMG! HAPPY YAY SUNSHINE! The beginning of Spring sucks. I want my warm.
Uh...a bunch of friends and I all brought our DS'es to school, and had a Metroid Prime: First Hunt-a-thon. I never got into the main game, though, because it only supports four at a time. I did own Chris in a one-on-one match though. It was like, six to one. I somehow managed to charge up the missles, and he all like "OMGWTF NO *boom*".
And, in much crappier news, my Journalism teacher is forcing the whole class to participate in the lip sync...thing. We have to go to rehearsals, and everything. If we don't, our grades suffer. And mine have been fairly crappy (for me, anyway) lately, so I need to keep 'em up. Worst of all, we're doing some stupid song from a musical called "The Newsies". Ignoring the fact that I hate musicals for a moment, it's some stupid song about newsboys getting crappy pay then going on strike. Worst of all, we're copying movie choreography, so we have to make a lot of little adaptions, which takes forever.
Let's add in the fact that I hate being put on the spot, and he have a sandwich of happy.
But, hey, at least my grades don't suck, eh? =P

Social Hierarchy
03.28.05 (2:12 pm) [edit]
~EDIT~ Warning. This is my personal opinion. This notice is to help prevent some of the berating I realize I may get. ~/EDIT~
Why is it, that when otherwise normal people are suddenly elevated to a position of relative people, that people become so reactionary? They're still people. They probably have this newfound power for a reason. They were chosen to dictate these things because those that picked them knew that they were trustworthy.
However, it seems that it is the mind's nature to rage at anything with power, until they get used to it. Especially in what is normally a three rank society--people, aristocrats, and kings. I'm using these terms fairly generically, but the idea is the same. The people are used to the aristocrats and kings having power, because it's simply always been a part.
Then, the kings and aristocrats decide it's a good idea for a new rank to exist. Specially chosen people, who seem to reign over the normal people. Suddenly, there are four ranks, and previously normal people have power that was never there, power that they COULD have.
"Why not me?" seems to be the only thing they say. Perhaps not directly, but it's definitely what they're thinking.
My reply to them is "Stop. Wait and see what happens. Perhaps it's not such a bad idea after all. If it saves time and effort for the previously all-powerful upper-class, and helps everybody out, then why fight it? You don't have any less contact with them then you did before, you just have another outlet to them, one that's more anonymous, and easy to talk to."
They don't have power just for the hell of it. It's there for a reason, and it's THEM for a reason. The upper class knows they're trustworthy. Besides, do you really want to have more work?
Anyone who read that, thanks. I needed to get that off my chest. And anyone who knows what I'm talking about, think this over. Seriously.

Cruise Zaniness
03.25.05 (8:16 pm) [edit]
Since I've been on Spring Break the past week, I've been on an eight day cruise. I made some pretty funny friends, and had a cruise-girlfriend, named Kelly.
And I will never be able to hear the word "Yeah" without thinking of Carlos feeling someone up. We met him the fourth day or so, and he was a pervert, but in a funny way. Another person, Ally, had an invisible friend named Pablo, who could somehow do her through her clothes.
Oh yeah, and some people got married, myself and Kelly included. While we were in there, Ally and Carlos made notices for the "Blacklight Orgy", to take place in the Chapel for eleven hours. We were going to put them on people's doors but then we forgot. Oh well =P
It was pretty fun. =P

Weekend Craziness
02.22.05 (5:05 pm) [edit]
I went to a Halo 2 LAN party over the weekend at a friends house.
Highlights?
"SHANK! Oh, you got SHANKED!" "BADUNKA-DUNK!" *insert other hilarious uses of SHANK!* My friend R.J. singing "I'm Working on the Railroad" and "I'm a Little Teapot" in Arnold Shwarzeneggar's voice. "Hah! Headshot!" and finally "Holy shit! My warthog just did a 360 barrel roll--in the air!"
Anti Highlights? "I'm gonna fuck you...in the eye!" Repeat ad infinitum. "Wahhh, spawn campers!" We ALWAYS played on either Lockout or Coagulation. We played on Headlong once, and that was it. No Ascension! Heathens!
Things are much funnier at three in the morning. Especially AHNOLD singing children's songs.
SHANK!

Random updates and such: Soccer game last weeked. 0-0 tie.
Went to the hospital due to chest pains. While not a new thing, they've never lasted this long before. As it turns out I have Mitral Valve Prolapse. The "gates" in the heart don't quite close properly every now and then, allowing too much blood flow, which hurts.
Got real broadband, and Xbox Live. I'm playing Halo 2 a lot. My Gamertag is PingZing, if anyone wants to take a shot at killing me mercilessly =P

Soccer Game
01.15.05 (2:05 pm) [edit]

Had a soccer game today, down in Bakersfield. I had to wake up at six. Bleh. We also lost 5 to zero. Yeah, it kinda sucked.

What a week...
01.14.05 (7:20 pm) [edit]
Had Finals this week, along with a snowstorm or two. Not to mention the fact that I was sick. And had to go to a party today. And have a soccer game tomorrow.
Being a Freshman in High School and all, I was a little worried about Finals, due to all the (negative) hype surrounding them. But it turns out, they're not really that bad. They're just glorified tests. I got done with most of them with 30-45 minutes to spare out of 2 hours, and a lot of time was spent by the teacher just putzing about.
There's also the fact that P.E. and one of my electives don't involve any Finals whatsoever, so I just get to dither around the entire two hour period. Nice way to wind down after a brain-muscle-pulling Geometry Final. I swear, I came close to pulling something in the 'ol brainbox. The fact that I'm stuck with a mild cold at the moment doesn't help.
Moment of Zen: A classmate in Geometry brought in a 12-pack of Coca-Cola. By the end of the period, he had drank nine of the twelve cans.

Generic Update Mark II
12.31.04 (7:20 pm) [edit]
To start, my heart goes out to all those who died, or suffered losses due to the Tsunami in Thailand recently. What a Christmas vacation, huh? =
On a less depressing note, I did indeed order an Xbox with Halo and Halo 2. It'll get here around Tuesday of next week, so I'm looking forward to that.
School starts again Monday. I'll be buried in an avalanche of work again. Joy.
Well, I suppose I'll see you guys later. Got to get back to preparing to celebrate New Years.
Have happy New Year. Or else. =|

Post-Christmas
12.28.04 (4:21 pm) [edit]
Merry post-Christmas everybody. Hope you enjoyed yours. I got a couple neat things, not least of which wa a Nintendo DS. That came out of nowhere. (No, seriously. It did.) I also got an Airzooka, which is fun. (Muwahahaha.)
I'm also gonna see if I can't get an Xbox and Halo 2 with some of that Christmas money. It's looking good, so w00t.
Recently got some snow here, and more is expected tonight. Up to seven inches. My fingers are crossed!

Generic Update
12.17.04 (4:39 pm) [edit]
A few small updates...no, I won't do a report on the cruise, I can't remember it too well anymore, and a quick sketch would just suck.
I made the Spring Select soccer team. It's a team that's hand-picked by a coach, and plays January through March, and plays all the other nearby Spring Select Reigons.
The last couple of weeks have been pretty work heavy, what with the teachers trying to jam in all the work they planned to make us do before the Christmas vacation. I'm off for two weeks now, yay!

Out of Town
11.24.04 (11:10 am) [edit]
I'm gonna be out of town tomorrow through Monday. I'm gonna go on a cruise. Carnival's Paradise ship. Free pizza and ice cream whenever I'm hungry, w00t w00t. Not to mention that the day before, I'm going to have access to T1 speeds with no caps, and it's completely free. I'm going to be doing a lot of "retriving backups" =P (Kidding.)
Anyway, since I probably won't get much chance to do this later, have a happy Turkey Day, everybody.

Bad News
11.18.04 (5:39 pm) [edit]
Right. You know how I said I was in that Journalism class? And how we do the school paper? Well, once we have our articles written, the editors pick the best, and then design the layout in [Adobe] Pagemaker. They then burn the file to CD and run it down to the printers...which is about forty minutes away. They tried e-mailing it once, but it was unsuccessful, and neither side is exactly tech-savvy.
Anyway, the teacher burned the latest paper design to CD and takes it to the printer's...only to discover that the thing's blank. We were hoping to have the paper ready by Friday, but with this, it'll be pushed back to the Monday we get back from Thanksgiving break. Not only that, but a friend of mine's article got pushed out due to the fact that it was about Thanksgiving.
Blahh.

I love my Journalism class.
11.15.04 (5:00 pm) [edit]
I love my Journalism class. It's the easiest and most laid back class ever. See, it's not really a class about Journalism, but the school's newspaper, and since I love writing, whoo, class points +1. We write two articles per paper, and about half make it in. We spend about 2 and a half weeks writing, interviewing, surveying, and after that, it's about three weeks of sitting about and chatting, etc. The teacher even has a little corner of the room with a couch and a rocking chair. Best of all, I can use the T1 line, hehe =P Not only that, but the people in that class are awesome. They all have a wacky sense of humor.
So, yeah, that's it. I just wanted to say that.
~EDIT~ What was I thinking? "Has got to be the most fun class ever"?

Dreams...and stuff.
12.23.03 (5:30 pm) [edit]
Last night I had this crazy dreams, where I was most definitely lucid (aware) at some points. In one..part of it, we were some kinda poor family, and someone had a small cache of Christmas trees in their back yard, and we decided to steal one. We all grabbed a scythe/saw (Kinda like a sickle, but with a serrated blade. I used one when we cut our tree down...), and we hike up this hill, which I recognize from real life. We get to the top, and my dad and brother (I think) hop the fence and begin cutting the tree when I (and...someone else) look down to see a freaking MASSIVE amount of police cars rushing to the bottom of the hill. I and the other guy quickly go down the hill (and heres where it goes lucid.) I talk to the cops, and when I talk to them, it turns out that they were here to investigate an odd sound. (It was windy outside, and LOUD. It invaded my dreams O_o;) Skip to dream two. I was in my newly rescheduled to a new classroom (for some reason O_o) in my final period, and it happens to be a laptop class (We bring our laptops to school. It's an entire class. Neat, no?) and we're wearing this odd thing on our wrists which is some kinda holographic projector. Anyway, eventually the class ends, theres a bit of confusion on whether or not we can take the wrist-mounted projectors home (in the end we can) and for some reason everyone leaves their laptops. I'm about to do the same, but then I (lucidly) think "Wait...I wanna use my laptop over the weekend!", and I magically find my laptop case. Then, I exit the classroom (And recognize the hall, which is noticeably shorter) but when I exit the scenery is a lot like the exit from the old school. Very odd.
Oh, my brother came home for Christmas today! He's away at college, but managed to come home ,despite having the flu...of it not that the cold I had a week ago. Quite nasty, it is.

Soccer, and Colds
12.13.03 (9:46 pm) [edit]
Our soccer team was the champions of our town, and every year on December...whatever-eth, the second Saturday of December. Anyway, on that day, All the teams in the county go to a nearby town, an hour north of where I live, and compete in the soccer playoffs. The champions of each division from Under 10 to Under 14 from each reigon play. Each team has to play three games. To progress to the Semifinals, they have to earn at least three (3) points. A win is one point, a shut-out (you win with no points scored on you) is worth two.
Aaanyway, so we're at the playoffs. I had to wake up at 6:30, and play at 7:50. Since my town tends to be trained on thinner fields, and we're also coed-as well as we only stay together a season, so we're almost never as good as the others. The first team we play beats us 3-1. Ow. The second team beats us 7-1. Bigger ouch. The last team we play we tie 2-2. w00. They were sexist too, kept on acting as if the girls on our team weren't good.
However, in such close proximity to hundreds of people as well as my teammates has left with a cold. Looking to be a head cold. Ah well...maybe it'll get me out of school if the coming snow doesn't/

What the heck?
12.02.03 (8:36 pm) [edit]
My friend was at the local game store the other day to trade in his Xbox for a PS2, when the guy in front of him was trading in his Xbox, his controllers, everything, for a freaking N-GAGE. An N-Gage! I mean, the thing looks bad, it's screen apparently causes headaches, doesn't have an outside volume control (the volume control has to be manually accessed), it's screen is vertical, and the controls aren't standardized!
...and it looks like a taco.
I mean, heck, you could get a GBASP ($100) a cell phone (around $50), and a game ($30) or two ($60) for less!
And that doesn't included the 'Gage's phone plan!
Graaargh...the stupidity of some people.

Sonic Heroes Europe release confirmed.
11.28.03 (9:54 pm) [edit]
Well, several sites that are very well known for having accurate release dates have confirmed that Sonic Heroes will be released on February 6th in Europe. While I don't live there, it sets some sanity to all these proposed dates-anywhere from December 5th to April. So, this is what the release dates are shaping up to be...
Japan: December 18 North America: January 6-27th* Europe: February 6th.
*For some reason the PS2 and Xbox release dates are listen as the 27th, while the GCN release date is the 6th.

Welcome to my Blog! I decided to start one because I saw a friend's blog, and thought it might be a neat idea to start my own so...here I am. I live in a little mountain town in California. I'm an avid Sonic the Hedgehog fan, and enjoy video games in general. I'm a member of several sonic boards including WWW.SSONICNET.COM/SCLASSIC/FORUMS. The place is called Sonic Classic.
