~EDIT~ Warning. This is my personal opinion. This notice is to help prevent some of the berating I realize I may get. ~/EDIT~
Why is it, that when otherwise normal people are suddenly elevated to a position of relative people, that people become so reactionary? They're still people. They probably have this newfound power for a reason. They were chosen to dictate these things because those that picked them knew that they were trustworthy.
However, it seems that it is the mind's nature to rage at anything with power, until they get used to it. Especially in what is normally a three rank society--people, aristocrats, and kings. I'm using these terms fairly generically, but the idea is the same. The people are used to the aristocrats and kings having power, because it's simply always been a part.
Then, the kings and aristocrats decide it's a good idea for a new rank to exist. Specially chosen people, who seem to reign over the normal people. Suddenly, there are four ranks, and previously normal people have power that was never there, power that they COULD have.
"Why not me?" seems to be the only thing they say. Perhaps not directly, but it's definitely what they're thinking.
My reply to them is "Stop. Wait and see what happens. Perhaps it's not such a bad idea after all. If it saves time and effort for the previously all-powerful upper-class, and helps everybody out, then why fight it? You don't have any less contact with them then you did before, you just have another outlet to them, one that's more anonymous, and easy to talk to."
They don't have power just for the hell of it. It's there for a reason, and it's THEM for a reason. The upper class knows they're trustworthy. Besides, do you really want to have more work?
Anyone who read that, thanks. I needed to get that off my chest. And anyone who knows what I'm talking about, think this over. Seriously.

| Cruise Zaniness |
| 03.25.05 (8:16 pm) [edit] |
Since I've been on Spring Break the past week, I've been on an eight day cruise. I made some pretty funny friends, and had a cruise-girlfriend, named Kelly.
And I will never be able to hear the word "Yeah" without thinking of Carlos feeling someone up. We met him the fourth day or so, and he was a pervert, but in a funny way. Another person, Ally, had an invisible friend named Pablo, who could somehow do her through her clothes.
Oh yeah, and some people got married, myself and Kelly included. While we were in there, Ally and Carlos made notices for the "Blacklight Orgy", to take place in the Chapel for eleven hours. We were going to put them on people's doors but then we forgot. Oh well =P
It was pretty fun. =P
